When I asked Karen to join us on #irishweddingchat – I had a feeling in my bones that she would be amazing!
The give away was amazing! A “wedding planner insert” for the winner to Brand and Publish! WOW WOW WOW! Imagine that – all you had to do was join our chat and use the hashtag #irishweddingchat and #weddingplanner to be in with a chance to WIN and publish your first book!
I invited Karen because I had the pleasure of being part of her challenge to publish a book. I was full of ideas. And, was all geared up and excited. Only I didn’t finish the challenge – cause Irish Wedding Chat takes up a lot of my time. I’ve a bit of a habit of forgetting to take that into consideration. But, hey ho – that’s the way it goes.
I digress, I knew that you, my fellow makers, creators and service providers would really benefit from Karen coming on as our Guest. And, I wasn’t wrong! We had an amazing Twitter Hour! Followed by a wonderful interview. I could have chatted with Karen for hours. Love when that happens.
Let’s dive into our Twitter Hour for those of you who missed it.
Q1: Due to Covid-19 many weddings are postponed. You had to reschedule your own wedding. Tell us about it?
We had planned to get married in Florida, but after 9/11 all flights were cancelled. My sister and mum were able to travel but everyone else’s plans were cancelled.
Q2: Your guests were unable to travel to your wedding. What did you do?
Because we’d booked annual leave and had to take it, instead we flew to Mexico the following week and ended up having our honeymoon before our wedding!
Q3: What happened to your Wedding?
When we got back, we looked at what we had, what we needed and organised a wedding in 6 weeks. Some of my in-laws said it was the best wedding they’d been to!
Q4: What is your advice to those who have had to cancel their wedding plans as a result of Covid-19?
Just remember it’s not the end of the world, it’s just a delay. You’re still getting married. Once you have the date sorted, work backwards and plan it out.
Look at what you have and what you need to re-schedule. We had all the clothes & rings but had to organise a venue, flowers, cake, the registrar etc. Get as much help as you can.
Q5: Tell us about the free challenge you’re running this week?
Each month I run a free challenge to show you how to publish your own book. This week I’ve been creating a mermaid gratitude journal and will publish it on Amazon live this Friday. To join visit my Facebook group https://buff.ly/3g52ybh
The challenge will run again 21st Sept
Q6: Your gift tonight is a Wedding planner book insert. Tell us more?
I have a number of book inserts that you can buy, re-brand and publish as your own on my website. For this week’s chat, I’ve created a wedding planner book insert.
It’s in Word so you just have to add in your own details, add a book cover and you’re done…
Thank you, Karen, for sharing your own experience of having to postpone your wedding. You really did share some wonderful insights. And, to top it off, you make publishing your own book sound so very simple! WOW!
